Meet Your Beekeeper

We’re excited to introduce you to the beekeepers behind the honey you enjoy and to share a glimpse of their  stories. Simply match the batch number on your label to discover which beekeeper produced it.

Hi Lane Apiary (Kittrell, NC)

Blake Haley, owner of Hi Lane Apiary, manages around 10 colonies in Vance  County, NC, with the support of his wife, Julie. Together, they pour their passion into caring for their bees and producing pure, local honey.  When the beekeeping season slows in late fall and early winter, you can also  find Blake and Julie sharing their honey at their family’s Christmas tree stand,  Parker’s in North Raleigh — a holiday tradition they’re proud to be part of.

Jackson Road Apiary (Wake Forest, NC)

Melvin McBride, with the support of his wife Trudie, manages about 20 colonies in Franklin County, NC. When he’s not tending to his bees, Melvin is  running his other business — McBride Plumbing — always ready to lend a  hand, whether it’s with honey or a clogged sink.

Ashby Farms (Burlington, NC)

Ashby Farms, run by Ashby and Cori Miller, manages around 500 colonies,  primarily in Alamance County. Each year, they also bring bees to the NC  mountains to harvest prized sourwood honey — one of the sweetest honeys in the country. Ashby Farms is proudly NC–USDA Certified and NC Certified Sourwood Honey Producers.
