I’m Paul DeTray, founder of DeTray Farms and Carolina Honey Exchange.
My journey with bees began as a child, learning from my grandfather as he cared for his hives. What started as a family tradition grew into a lifelong passion, and in 2022 I turned that passion into a business.
Today, as a certified beekeeper working toward my Master Beekeeper certification with the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association, I’m committed to raising strong, healthy colonies while also supporting fellow beekeepers.
Through DeTray Farms, I focus on sustainable hive management and pollinator care. With Carolina Honey Exchange, I connect beekeepers and the wider community by offering guidance, resources, and high-quality products. Both ventures are built on the same foundation: respect for nature, dedication to education, and a belief that thriving pollinators strengthen both ecosystems and communities.
